Nick Cannon Net Worth:

Nick Cannon is an American actor and television host who has a net worth of $30 million. Throughout his career, Nick Cannon has found success in television, film, radio and as an entrepreneur/producer.

Early life:

Nick Cannon was born on October 8, 1980 in San Diego, California. He was mainly raised by his grandfather. He grew up in the Bay Vista Housing Projects in Lincoln Park. As a teenager, Cannon was a member of the Lincoln Park Bloods Street Gang but left when he lost a close friend to violence. He started performing at the age of 8 and by the age of 11 he was already doing comedy on his father’s local cable TV show. Cannon graduated from Monte Vista High School in 1998. Nick Cannon later moved to Hollywood where he has had several appearances as a stand-up comedian at venues such as The Laugh Factory, The Improv and The Comedy Store. Nick’s big television debut came when he landed a role on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show All That in the mid-’90s.

Screen Career:

In 2002, Nick made a cameo appearance in Men in Black II. He got his first starring role in the 2002 film Drumline, starring Devon Miles, and the following year in the comedy Love Don’t Cost A Thing. His other films include Shall We Dance, Roll Bounce and 2006’s Bobby. He received a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role in Bobby in 2007 and received Breakthrough Actor of the Year for his performance Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Nick later starred in the 2015 Spike Lee film Chi Raq. Cannon directed the hit TV sketch show Wild & Out on MTV from 2005 to 2007, which ran for a total of four seasons. The show was revived in 2012 with Nick as the host.

Music Career :

In 2005 Nick started his own record label called Can I Ball Records. His self-titled debut studio album was released in 2003 and reached #15 on the US R&B chart. The lead single “Can I Live” was released in July 2005.

In 2009, Nick started a new record label, N’Credible Entertainment, after dissolving Can-I-Ball Records. In 2010, Cannon created a spoof of Slick Rick and called himself Slick Nick. He released two singles featuring this character and a mixtape titled “Child of the Corn” in December 2011. In July 2013, Cannon released a new single, “Me Sexy”. He released a second single, “Looking for a Dream”, featuring Afrojack. His second album, White People Party Music, was released in 2014. Cannon’s second mixtape, The Gospel of Ike Turn Up: My Side of the Story, was released on November 16, 2016. In December 2019, Nick recorded an Eminem diss track called “The Invitation”. After Eminem tweeted this, Cannon recorded a second diss track that same day.

America’s Got Talent:

In 2009, he replaced Regis Philbin as host of America’s Got Talent. He was the host from 2009 to 2016. When he hosted America’s Got Talent, he was making $70,000 an episode. In 2017, Nick announced that he would not be returning for the 2017 season, citing creative differences between himself and NBC executives. However, the network had already considered firing Nick after he made disparaging remarks about NBC on his Showtime comedy special Stand Up, Don’t Shoot. Cannon was technically under contract and could have been sued by NBC for breach of contract, so NBC executives initially rejected his resignation. Eventually, however, he was accepted and replaced by Tyra Banks as the host of America’s Got Talent.

CBS fires:

On the June 30, 2020 episode of Nick’s Cannon’s Class podcast, Nick made comments that were interpreted as anti-Semitic. During an interview with Public Enemy rapper Professor Griff about his exit from the group after making anti-Semitic remarks, Cannon discussed several conspiracy theories about the wealthy Rothschild family being viewed as anti-Semitic. On July 14, 2020, in response to these comments, ViacomCBS terminated its association with Cannon, who had long aired his show “Wild ‘N Out,” citing “hateful remarks and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.” Cannon also hosts a radio show on KPWR Power 106 called “Nick Cannon Mornings”. On July 16, 2020, he announced via tweet, that he would be taking time off from his radio show to reflect and create a plan of action. The broadcast is suspended indefinitely. He apologized on Twitter and was able to remain the host of the Fox show The Masked Singer, which he has hosted since 2019.

Personal life :

Nick Cannon dated singer Mariah Carey from 2008 to 2016married. They married at their private estate on Windermere Island in the Bahamas. They have two children together, twins Monroe and Moroccan Scott. Nick and Mariah officially confirmed their split in August 2014. Their divorce was finalized in 2016. During the divorce proceedings, we learned from court records that Mariah had a net worth of $150 million when they married in 2008, while Nick was worth less than $500,000. Also, the records show that Mariah earned a total of $6.3 million in 2014, while Nick earned $2.7 million. As part of the settlement, which was not disclosed, Nick received ownership of a 2012 Ferrari and had to pay $5,000 a month to a foundation for the twins. Shortly after filing for divorce, Nick and Mariah sold their longtime home in LA’s Bel Air neighborhood for $9 million. They bought the house in 2009 for $7 million. A previous owner was Farrah Fawcett, who sold the home for $2.7 million in 1999 after living there for over two decades.

Cannon also has a son with model Brittany Bell, Golden “Scagon” Cannon, who was born in February 2017.

Cannon enrolled at Howard University in 2016 and graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in criminology/judicial administration.

Activism:

Cannon runs his own charity, the Nicholas Scott Cannon Foundation. In 2011, he directed a commercial for the organization Do Something, a platform that encourages youth to find a cause close to their heart and get involved and make a difference in their communities. Since 2011, Cannon has served as the celebrity speaker for the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual food collection.
