Smartphone from viruses

The number of smartphone owners has now passed the three billion mark. Of course, people still want to be permanently connected to their environment through their mobile phones, and the number of people with this goal is actually increasing. However, this also means that the amount of stored data is also increasing. This is accompanied by the growth of viruses that want to infect the devices.

These viruses are up to different things: they often want to steal sensitive information about the owner, often because the device is loaded with annoying adware. Both variants are annoying if your own smartphone is infected by a virus. This is exactly why you should take care of protecting your cell phone in advance, before it is too late.

Only virus protection can protect the smartphone optimally

Especially if you, as a mobile phone owner, also carry out financial transactions with apps on your smartphone, then antivirus protection for Android must be purchased. Again and again it happens that criminals use mean tricks to get their hands on bank data, which under certain circumstances can result in an empty account. If this happens, the affected people are hit even harder than damage to the device itself. Which, of course, is annoying enough.

Antivirus protection that immediately gives an alarm at the first sign of a possible infection is ideal. It is even better if the program warns of dangerous links, provides a risk-free VPN for use and at the same time constantly checks the linked e-mail account for inconsistencies. A great extra in the service is the location of the mobile phone in the event of a loss, with which you can locate the smartphone and, in the first step, at least delete all data from the device.

What is the difference between a virus and malware?

A virus is classified as malware, but not all malware is classified as a virus. Viruses are more complex and can copy themselves and, in the worst case, transfer to other end devices. Then the misery can of course be enormous! Malware, on the other hand, doesn’t replicate, but it can be no less harmful. What is malware?

• Adware: this variant literally showers the affected smartphone with spam wrapped in advertising so that more advertising revenue can be generated.

• Scareware: Such malware merely maintains the appearance that the mobile phone is infected with malicious software or a virus and prompts you to download
a clarifying program. If necessary, this will download the malicious software first.

• Spyware: if this variant has taken root in the smartphone, then all actions and thus also keystrokes are spied on and
documented at the same time. The aim here is to tap passwords and access data.

• Ransomware: This form of malware is still very new, but rather harsh and pleasant. Without warning, it locks the device and makes all files
and folders inaccessible to the owner. What is the requirement for renewed and full functionality? Ransom!

Action must be taken at the slightest sign of an infestation. It’s even better if you act before an infestation occurs. Virus protection belongs on every mobile phone!
